Private Idiots is an original Private Investigator comedy series set in current-day Toronto. The series focuses on two PI’s following a scientist who is a key figure in the corona-19 pandemic. To pass the time during their stakeouts, Steve and Boise hotly debate the polarizing topics of 2020. From Covid conspiracies to the toilet paper crisis, from Tiger King to the Karen apocalypse, every triggering topic is debated. The character’s egos, motives, and pride clash in hilarious ways, but ultimately the two PIs use their differences and abilities to come together and solve the case. Together, somehow, they are a formidable team.

Boise Jobs

Male - White - Mid 30’s Steve’s PI partner.

Raised in the burbs of Barrie on television, Boise thinks being a PI should be a never-ending action movie. He’s eager, impulsive, and a tad arrogant, which quickly gets him in over his head. Luckily he’s quick on his feet and can charm his way out of most problems. While always making light of the situation, he’s often politically incorrect (because he doesn’t know any better). Boise wanted to be a police officer, but his rebellious teenage years prevented him from being able to join. Loyal to a fault, he’s got a heart of gold and will jump in to help anyone in trouble without a second (or even first) thought.

Steve Mann

Male - Black - Mids 30’s Boise’s PI partner and married to Jessica Mann.

Ex-Toronto Police, Steve was kicked out of the force after being framed by his superior, Luke Kachafanas, while trying to report Luke’s corruption. He has a large build useful for playing the enforcer role, but at his core he is calm, well educated and disciplined. His blunt no BS attitude and size gets people talking quickly, but his stubbornness and temper can get in the way of his professional success. Very private, he doesn’t want to talk about himself, his relationship, or his time on the Police Force. While Steve likes to help people when he can, his main concern is paying the bills and keeping his wife happy.
